I've been an artist all of my life. As a child I loved drawing. Exploring nature and constructing with cardboard, mud, sticks or anything I had available. Nature is still an important influence in my daily life and in my art. While in college I studied fine arts, metal work, jewelry design and construction, interior design, fiber and textiles. My appetite for learning has never stopped. I owned an art gallery and working studio where i worked and taught classes including an arts therapy workshop for cancer survivors, patients and family members. I am now devoting my time fully to my art and exploring new techniques and venues for exhibitions.
I'm a multi-medium abstract artist. I work in acrylics, textiles, fibers, papers, metal and more. I've evolved a style that often incorporates all of these, singularly or mixed. My imagination is endless and I’m always eager to try new and different ways of expressing myself creatively.
My inspiration often comes from nature but also by happy accidents or experimentation. I consider myself an artistic explorer always eager to find new ways to express my creativity and unique view. The process is an integral part of the finished work. Occasionally I need to express myself about social injustice and my art becomes my voice. I'm open to new or unusual creative ideas always.
My solo exhibit Women's Work - Still Not Done was a success! I had a good turn out and favorable comments and compliments. Politically on point and artistically interesting. some of the pieces from the show are in the portfolio.
